Only a book in German, and this is a translation: Xenophon's Anabasis for the reading circle in the classic Forum that - oops - starting tomorrow.
Naguib Mahfouz (so the English spelling) The Seventh Heaven Egypt will take on the world map of my journey. A German translation of the collection of supernatural stories I could not yet identify.
I love lists, not too long and only are. M. John Harrison has published a few days: some good fantasy.
flight I've E pluribus unicorn of Theodore Sturgeon (of which I will finally get to know more than just his Act) and ordered War in Heaven by Charles Williams (the covert of Lewis and Tolkien Inkling).
Actually yes I am interested in old or early fantasy / fantasy, whatever you call it. The Twilight of the Gods turns out to be a surprising collection of stories by Richard Garnett (just like the Sturgeon and the Mahfouz - with none of the books I was aware).
The Haunting of Hill House after all, is expected as a novel. And praise for Shirley Jackson to me now encountered in so many places that I could not escape the longer.
Now a nice pile of interesting reading waiting for me. But I fear I will Dalziel and Pascoe and only release when I have also read the last volume of their series. Are only four books. The Xenophon pushes itself between them and sneaks behind your back heel.
