The question arose when Baba and I amicably saßen.Wir in the pew is not expected to start the service, but the David Lodge reading on this year's Litcologne. It started with the idea that Dutch authors we know. Was triggered by the reading with Remco Campert, and good standing to lodge next . I noticed after all, an immediate Cees Noteboom and after looking into the program book Harry Mulisch. As it were necessarily led to the question then the countries from which we knew at all authors. The result shows the map above. It may be that I have forgotten a few.
Western Europe is quite well covered, and the English-speaking countries, but South America and Asia, seen largely undiscovered, Africa seems unexplored.
I noticed then the action that I propose Some time had seen in the literature Shock Forum: We read around the world.
The five books from five continents have since read. I would go even further with the idea. I am going on a perpetual journey around the world in x directories. So far available in German or English, I try to read from any country in the world to authors.
I begin with Ismail Kadare (The Palace of Dreams ) from Albania, Assia Djebar ( far is my prison ) from Algeria and Atiq Rahimi ( earth and ashes ) from Afghanistan. No idea what was coming up to me, I let myself be surprised that the geography of my discoveries will bring.
